This striking crab is about two and a half inches--65 mm--on the diagonal. It is set up to be used as either a pendant or a pin, and has a pin on its belly and a bail on its claw for a chain or string. It is a very glamorous, earthy crab, sure to be noticed whether worn as a pin or necklace. Perhaps it is this very crab to which T.S. Eliot refers when he says,
"I should have been a pair of ragged claws
Scuttling across the floors of silent seas."
Works for males as well as females; I wore one myself on my hat for many months, until one exhausting night, stumbling on a trail in the Ventana Wilderness (here in Monterey County), I scraped by an unseen branch, and unknowingly left that crab on the forest floor, where it is no doubt living a better, quieter, life than it did on my hat, and probably is much happier.
