Sculpture by Joseph Alan, c. 1992. It is 14.5 " high, 21 " long, 5" deep, and made of clear blue, cast acrylic.
Angular, piercingly blue and compelling in many ways, this desktop sculpture begs for light--sharp, focused light, which refracts through it and to the surrounding surfaces and to your eye, as well.
The piece is very sharp, and delicately balanced on a small facet--not for areas trafficked by small children (or drunken adults, for that matter). It has a slight scratch on the back, probably polishable, but we are afraid to try. Not very noticeable.
Very simple and astoundingly beautiful.
